What’s Up With Vajacials?

We have something new in Lakeland!  A few months ago we were sitting around our Beach Ready Waxing Lakeland office and I asked both technicians if there was anything new they wanted to try as far as services go or products.  Both of the technicians there are much younger than I am and they keep their finger on the pulse of trends more than I do.  Both of them immediately suggested that I consider adding vajacials to our service line up.  Just for those of you scratching your heads a vajacial is a facial for your mons pubis (pubic mound) and labia.  This involves cleansing, exfoliating, steaming, extracting ingrown hairs, masking and moisturizing the area.  A few people have asked me this next question so I feel the need to clarify:  this service does not involve the inside of the vagina; NOTHING we do involves the inside of the vagina.  We wax hair and treat the areas where the hair grows.  That’s it.

A Brazilian wax can lead to ingrown hairs on some people.  I, personally, do not have this issue and have no need for a vajacial.  I do, however, have lots of clients that have been waxing for years and this treatment would benefit them.  Believe me, I was skeptical at first.  I rolled my eyes and made puffing noises with my lips. BUT the other day I waxed a client that I had been waxing for years who had recently had two vajacials by one of the technicians in the Lakeland store and I’m here to tell you I could not believe the difference.  This client had a brightening of the area that was very noticeable and way less ingrown hairs than she had in the past.  She also did purchase one of our exfoliation kits which I believe has also been helping her at home.  You really should take home a product to continue the benefit from the service.  The exfoliation kit is $29.95 plus tax.  It’s a winner as far as after wax maintenance.

Here is process and the pricing with and without waxing: A Brazilian wax and a vajacial is $97.  That is a full front to back Brazilian wax and then the entire vajacial procedure and takes about an hour. You could also just get a vajacial by itself without a wax.  Perhaps you are a shaver and need some TLC from the havoc the razor has wreaked on your tender lady bits (we won’t shame you for shaving, although I can’t promise we won’t try and convert you to waxing).  This is $60 and is about 30 minutes.  One more option is that perhaps you feel your skin needs a bit more calming and redness reduction after your Brazilian then you could just add on a jelly mask for $18.

At the moment this service is only available in our Beach Ready Waxing Lakeland location.  We are contemplating bringing it to Beach Ready Waxing Brandon.  What do you think?  Do you want to try one?  What location do you frequent?  Is this a fad or here to stay?

Smiles,

Jennifer
